This was announced on Monday morning in a social media post on the Government Facebook page.
The Prime Minister is expected to return after one week according to the release.
The Press Release confirms that in the Prime Ministerโs absence, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mulipola Anarosa โAle-Molioโo, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister had traveled in April for a long overdue medical check up. When he returned, it was announced the Prime Minister was fully recovered and well-rested.
Speaking to local media at the time, the Prime Minister had emphasised the importance of adequate rest.
He said at the time that since assuming the nationโs top leadership role, he has often overlooked this critical aspect of maintaining good health.
He added that doctors had strongly advised him to prioritise rest and maintain consistent working hours.
