The celebrations They will start at 2:30 p.m. with the arrival of twelve images and religious brotherhoods to the atrium of the Chiclayo Cathedral. Among the confirmed images, the following stand out: San Martin de Tours de Requehe Lord of the Miracles of Chiclayo and the Chalpón de Motupe Cross.

The program will continue at 3:00 p.m. with an artistic and cultural meeting open to the public in the main park of the city. School musical bands and Christian groups will participate in the event organized in honor of the pontiff.
According to Fidel Purisaca, press director of the diocese, “All these tributes are given on this first anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV, here in Chiclayo”.
The most important moment of the celebration will be thanksgiving mass scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and presided over by Monsignor Edinson Farfán Córdoba, accompanied by four other bishops from the northern macro region of the country.

In addition, the attendance of the President of the Republic was confirmed, Jose Balcazaralong with ministers of State and various civil and religious authorities. After the religious ceremony, the tribute will continue with a musical concert in the cathedral atrium.
