A ban on traffic in an area on the Sermitsiaq mountain is extended.
Greenland Police informs on Facebook that for reasons of safety, a ban on traffic in a limited area on the Sermitsiaq mountain near Nuuk is being extended.
The ban now applies from 30 September 2026 to 30 December 2026.
– The background for the extension of the ban is that there is still a risk that the plane wreckage, from the plane crash at Sermitsiaq in autumn 2025, could slide down from its current location, the police write.
The police have put up signs at the no-traffic area and are asking everyone to follow the directions for their own safety and that of others.
