The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., when a green tourist busMercedes Benz brand with license plate Y1R-966, hit a Derco brand truck with VUM-760 board.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles ended up overturned and stranded, obstructing traffic in one of the directions of the Panamericana Sur.
The fatal victim was identified as truck driver.
According to the first investigations, the tourist bus, which came from the Paracas resort, would have invaded the opposite lane until it collided head-on with the cargo vehicle that was traveling towards the tourist area of the province.
The 15 injured were helped by emergency personnel and taken to nearby healthcare centers to receive medical treatment. Members of the National Police and fire units worked at the scene to rescue those affected and clear the route.
