Pintard: FNM team is ready to govern | News

A vote for the Free National Movement (FNM) is a vote for “transparency” and “accountability,” FNM Leader Michael Pintard told throngs of supporters at a rally at R.M. Bailey Park last night.

Making a pitch to voters two weeks before the May 12 general election, Pintard accused the Davis administration of “betraying” voters, many of whom he said are suffering.

He urged voters to hit the “reset button” and vote to ensure public resources are used to their benefit.

“This is your chance to hit the reset button, to throw them out of office because they have betrayed your trust,” Pintard said. “They [are] living large, and far too many of our people are suffering.”

For months, Prime Minister Philip Davis has questioned Pintard’s work history, accusing the Marco City MP of never having a “real job”. Pintard is a former playwright and poet.

Last night, Pintard said his team is qualified to govern as he took a swipe at Davis’ career.

“The brother was a lawyer for many, many years,” Pintard said. “He’s a senior man at the bar. How many cases [do] you remember? What client [do] you remember most?”

Davis, a King’s Counsel, is a noted criminal defense attorney known for representing convicted drug trafficker Samuel “Ninety” Knowles.

“They want to question whether we are suitably qualified,” Pintard continued.

“We want to let you know, we are as capable as any other group that has ever governed in this country. This team is ready to preside over this economy, to not only hear your dreams and aspirations but create opportunities for you to realize them, not just for you, but for your children and grandchildren yet unborn.”

Pintard urged people to vote early and turn out in large numbers on election day.

“No matter what they do, when plenty of you come out, it will be too big for them to rig,” he said.
