The car that was once a symbol of everyday life in the Balkans, today reaches a price worthy of a collector’s item. Rare model of “Zastava Yugo 45A” since 1989 currently sold in Great Britain for 8,995 pounds, that is, about 10,500 euros.
It is an extremely well-preserved example that has traveled about 27,200 kilometers from the factory.
The car is in its original factory “Cannes Blue” color, and the seller states that the body is in excellent condition, with no corrosion and no visible repairs to the factory panels. The only noticeable flaws are a small dent in the roof and slight damage to the driver’s side mirror glass.
Special attention is drawn to the fact that the original registration plates from the dealer, the factory stickers on the windows, as well as the information marks placed on the delivery of the vehicle have been preserved.
The interior is also almost untouched by time. The gray cloth seats show minimal signs of use and the original ‘Philips AC648’ cassette player is still fitted in the cabin. Complete factory tooling is also preserved.
Under the hood is a four-cylinder engine with a volume of 903 cubic centimeters and a power of 45 horsepower. The car develops a maximum speed of about 137 kilometers per hour, and the inscription “Made in Yugoslavia” (in translation: Made in Yugoslavia), which still stands today in the engine compartment, attracts attention.
In May 2026, the car underwent a major service, the fuel system was refreshed and the brakes were completely overhauled. In addition, five new “Uniroyal” tires were installed, including the spare one.
This Jugo was sold as new on August 1, 1989 in the British city of Reading through an official Zastava dealer. The car also comes with extensive documentation including service history, maintenance receipts, factory brochures, manuals and original documents from when the model was new on the market.
The British seller describes it as a “rare example” and “the perfect classic for those who want to be different”, adding that its future owner is sure to be the center of attention at car rallies.
