A serious road accident that happened a few days ago on the Librazhd-Përrenjas axis ended tragically, killing Chinese citizen Li Jianhong and injuring six other people.
The event has also attracted wide attention in the Chinese media, which revealed the profile of the person who passed away, emphasizing that he was one of the most popular and influential entrepreneurs in the Xinjiang region. According to reports, Li Jianhong was in Albania for a business visit and at the time of the accident he was traveling together with some of his compatriots, as part of activities related to investments and business cooperation in our country.
Li Jianhong, 60, born in December 1965, was the president of Xinjiang Grand Scape Group and the founder of the famous Silkroad Mountain Resort in Urumqi, one of the most important winter tourism projects in China. He started his career in the telecommunications sector, but in 1993 he decided to leave an institute in Guangzhou to return to Xinjiang, where he rebuilt his private business.
Over the years, the company he led has become a large group with activities spanning various fields, including telecommunications, tourism and investment management. “Xinjiang Grand Scape Group” managed to manage assets worth about 1.4 billion yuan and employ thousands of people, ranking among the most important private companies in the region.
In 2002, the group was among the founders of “Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar”, one of the most popular symbols of the city of Urumqi, a project from which the company withdrew in 2017. Meanwhile, through investments in tourism, Li Jianhong left a special mark with the development of the resort.Silkroad Mountain Resort”, an important winter sports destination in China.
Beyond his success in business, he was also known for his passion for extreme sports and outdoor adventures. Li Jianhong had completed the well-known “Explorer’s Grand Slam” challenge, climbing the seven highest peaks of the continents and reaching both poles of the Earth.
In 2018, at the age of 53, he managed to climb the summit of Everest, as well as completed the ascent of Mount Lhotse, ranking among climbers with rare achievements at the international level.
An announcement released on April 30 by Silkroad Mountain Resort confirmed the news of Li Jianhong’s passing, noting that he died in a car accident during a business trip abroad.
In his early years as an entrepreneur, he founded Xinjiang Hongjing with an initial capital of only 30,000 yuan, turning it into one of the most successful enterprises in the region. Currently, the group he founded is ranked among the 30 largest private companies in Xinjiang, with a market value of about 1.4 billion yuan.
His contribution was not limited to economics. In 2021, Li Jianhong was awarded the title of “National Model Employee in the Sports System”, an appreciation for his commitment and achievements in the field of sports.
