The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) is pleased to announce that Grenada has been appointed to the office of Second Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO), during the 64th CTO Council Meeting and Commonwealth Digital Roadshow in Maseru, Lesotho.
This important achievement represents a significant advancement for Grenada, which previously served as an ordinary member of the Executive Committee. Grenada now assumes a leadership role within the organisation as part of the newly appointed Executive Committee comprising:
- Mauritius — Chairperson
- Uganda — First Vice-Chair
- Grenada — Second Vice-Chair
- Samoa — Immediate Past Chair/Exco-Member
- Cameroon — Exco-Member
- Lesotho — Exco-Member
- Mozambique — Exco-Member
The meeting was held from 20–24 April 2026 under the theme “The Digital Future: Cultivating Opportunities, Safety and Sustainable Growth.”
According to the CTO, the newly constituted Executive Committee will help guide the organisation’s strategic direction, strengthen collaboration among Commonwealth countries, and support initiatives aimed at accelerating innovation, digital transformation, and inclusive connectivity. The committee is also expected to foster partnerships that enhance digital infrastructure development and promote the effective use of technology to drive socio-economic growth across member states.
Grenada was represented at the meeting by Commissioner Andrew Millet of the NTRC. The NTRC extends warm congratulations to Commissioner Millet for his outstanding representation of Grenada and the NTRC. His professionalism, commitment, and leadership at the meeting have brought credit to the country and to the Commission and contributed to this successful outcome.
The Government of Grenada has also welcomed this development. In correspondence to the NTRC, Cabinet Secretary Carvel Lett described Grenada’s elevation as “a noteworthy achievement” which “reflects the growing confidence placed in our country’s leadership and contribution at the regional and international levels, particularly in the areas of ICT, telecommunications, and digital transformation.” The Government of Grenada also joins the NTRC in extending sincere congratulations to Commissioner Millet for his exemplary service and representation of the nation.
The NTRC remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen Grenada’s national digital development agenda and expand the country’s influence in regional and international telecommunications matters.
