A total of 5,705 new passenger cars were registered in Finland in April 2026, which was 9 per cent fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In all, 11,388 new vehicles were registered in April. First registrations decreased by 2 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
In January to April period of 2026, a total of 22,909 new passenger cars were registered, which was about as much as one year earlier.
Of first-time registered passenger cars in April, 49 per cent were fully electric.
The number of electric car registrations was 2,783, or 21 per cent higher than one year earlier.
In all, 2,072 new petrol-fuelled passenger cars were registered in April, which was 13 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
