Kolkata: Net UG hit by question leak scandal. Protests are also going on across the country. In this situation, a fair re-examination is going to be held on Sunday. The exam was originally scheduled to be held on May 3, but was canceled after the question paper was leaked. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is re-conducting the exam with more stringent security measures.
Candidates will be first searched and ID verified along with admit card after reaching the examination center. Aadhaar-based biometric verification will then be done before entering the exam hall. This process is done to confirm the identity of the candidate. But the question is if it doesn’t work or is not the verification method, then what to do?
What if Aadhaar/Biometric Verification Fails?
Sometimes, biometric verification fails due to technical reasons, such as machine malfunction, Internet or UIDAI server problems, fingerprint mismatch, or any physical condition that makes biometric submission impossible. There is no need to panic in such situations. NTA has clearly stated that no candidate shall be debarred from appearing in the examination merely because of biometric failure. That is, NTA has made it clear that even if the process fails, the candidates will not be barred from taking the exam.
What should the candidate do?
1. If your biometric verification fails, inform the exam center officials immediately.
2. Collect the prescribed undertaking form from the Center Superintendent.
3. Fill the form and submit the requested information.
4. If any additional verification is required by the officials, cooperate.
5. Save any receipts, instructions or post-test verification documents.
This verification will not be done during the exam.
As per NTA guidelines, biometric verification will be done before the commencement of the examination and if necessary also after the examination. No student shall be harassed during the examination. Candidates should reach the examination center between 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. No candidate will be allowed to enter the center after 1:30 PM.
