The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Arbërie Nagavci, has stated that the entity she is a part of has taken a new step to overcome the deadlock in the election of the president, giving up this position.
According to her, Vetëvendosje has called on the two largest opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo, to propose three unifying candidates outside the political scene, with proven integrity and contribution. However, he emphasized that despite the public statements by PDK and LDK, no official proposal has been accepted in response to the offer made.
“Beyond the statements in the media and social networks by PDK and LDK, until now, we have not officially accepted any concrete proposal against our offer to give the country a consensual and unifying president”, she wrote on Facebook.
Nagavci added that due to the importance of the situation and the deadlines, Vetëvendosje remains waiting for concrete proposals.
Yesterday, the chairman of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Facebook, also mentioned the possibility of proposing former president Vjosa Osmani for the post of president, as long as 66 votes are guaranteed from Vetëvendosja.
