The president of the Republic of Panama, José Raúl Mulinoarrived this Monday in the Peruvian capital to attend the transmission of command ceremony in which Keiko Fujimori will assume the Presidency of Peru for the period 2026-2031.
Mulino, who traveled with the first lady, Maricel Cohen de Mulinoand the chancellor of the Republic, Javier Martínez-Achareceived protocol honors upon arrival at the airport by the Peruvian Minister of Production, Cesar Quispe.
The official agenda of the Panamanian president includes his participation in this Tuesday, July 28 the presidential swearing-in and the holding of his first bilateral meeting with Fujimori. According to the Foreign Ministry, the event will prioritize three axes: commercial exchange, investment attraction and security cooperation.
The trip will place Panama at the center of a high-level diplomatic meeting. The Peruvian Foreign Ministry confirmed the attendance of seven other heads of state from Latin America: Javier Milei (Argentina), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Jose Kast (Chili), Santiago Pena (Paraguay), Yamandu Orsi (Uruguay), Nasry Asfura (Honduras) and Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), in addition to the king of Spain, Philip VI.
With this mission, the Mulino administration seeks to strengthen economic and geopolitical ties with Lima at a key juncture for regional trade and security agreements.
