April 17, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The 2026 Asian Heyball Open and Asian Heyball
Championship were held in Selangor, Malaysia, from April 8 to 15, where
Mongolian players delivered strong performances.
Mongolia’s
Delgerdalai Lagnaidorj won the 2026 Asian Heyball Open title, earning a USD
10,000 prize. He secured the men’s title with a 7–6 victory over defending
champion Jack Whelan of the United Kingdom. The final was decided in the last
rack, where Delgerdalai showed composure and precision under pressure to claim
a breakthrough international title.
Featuring top players from Asia, Europe, and beyond, the tournament delivered a week of high-intensity matches. International Master Narantuya Bayarsaikhan also performed strongly, winning a bronze medal.
The
2026 Asian Heyball Championship brought together 64 male and 64 female players
from across Asia. Mongolia was represented by four male and seven female
athletes.
Among
them, 2024 Asian champion and International Master Temuujin Enkhbold advanced
to the final and won a silver medal. He defeated Iran’s Valizadeh Sina 7–1 in
the semifinals but lost 7–4 to Hong Kong’s Yip King Ling Leo in the final.
Having
won the Asian Championship in 2024, he became the first Mongolian athlete to
claim a gold medal at the event, and with this result, he is now a two-time
medalist at the Asian Championship.
