Ulaanbaatar,
April 17, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Minister
of Environment and Climate Change. Sandag-Ochir Tsend met representatives of
the Board of Directors of the Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation on April 16, 2026, to discuss the
implementation progress, results, and future cooperation under the “Eternal
Mongolia” Project Finance for Permanence initiative.
Participants
included Uranchimeg Ts., Director of the Protected Areas Policy Department of
the ministry; Boldoo Magvan, Chair of the Board of the Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation; Galbadrakh Davaa., Country Director of The Nature
Conservancy’s Mongolia office; and board member Azjargal U.
During
the meeting, participants provided detailed information on the goals, plans,
and implementation progress of the “Eternal Mongolia” program.
They
also introduced Mongolia’s first conservation trust fund, which is being
developed in line with international standards of good governance and best
practices.
The sides
agreed to deepen cooperation in improving the management of protected areas,
strengthening sustainable financing mechanisms, and reinforcing the legal
framework needed to achieve the program’s target outcomes.
