Hon Lesamatauanuu Tugaga Misa Telefoni Retzlaff has been awarded the Companion Order of Samoa.

This prestigious award may be conferred on persons who have made exceptionally important contributions to the State, people, life and culture of Samoa, nationally or internationally, including distinguished leaders who have rendered lengthy and valuable service and friendship to Samoa.

Misa Telefoni Retzlaff is a published author. His first novel, “Love and Money” is a love story about the richest young bachelor in Auckland New Zealand falling in love with and marrying a young Samoan woman who worked part time as a kitchen help at the young man’s exclusive bording school.

“To Thine Own Self be True” is a collection of articles, speeches and poems written over the span of Misa Telefoni’s illustrious career.

In 2021 he published an autobiography, Tautua – Memoirs of a Public Servant.
