The Ministry of Interior announced yesterday that the competent authorities are continuing to complete their procedures to verify the circumstances of the accident that occurred in a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City as a result of a technical malfunction during operation, accurately determine its technical causes, and take the necessary measures in accordance with the applicable legal and technical frameworks.
The Ministry explained that the accident resulted in the death of (13) people and (66) injuries, of different nationalities.

She indicated that immediately after the accident occurred, the competent security services, in cooperation and coordination with the emergency response teams in Ras Laffan Industrial City, began their procedures at the site in accordance with the approved plans, where the injured were transferred to receive the necessary medical care, while search work was completed at the accident site.
The Ministry of Interior also confirmed that no leakage resulting from the accident was detected that would pose a threat to the safety of individuals or the surrounding environment.
The Ministry extended its sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the deceased, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy and grant those injured a speedy recovery.
