Following a successful previous year, the Hungarian national team is preparing for the 48th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship.
The Hungarian national military skydiving team has laid the groundwork for the upcoming season. The elite athletes have officially begun training at the headquarters of the “Kiss József” 86th Helicopter Brigade in Szolnok. As the brigade announced on its social media page, the focus this year is on a series of high-profile international competitions.
After an intense 2025, the team is now looking ahead. This year’s competition calendar is ambitious.
In addition to several World Cup stops, the 48th CISM World Championship in military skydiving in Slovakia will be the absolute highlight of the season.

The team is building on the remarkable successes of the previous year. At the last CISM World Championship in November 2025 in Doha (Qatar), the Hungarian soldiers already demonstrated their class. The team, consisting of six soldiers from the 86th Helicopter Brigade, secured 11th place in the precision landing event. Particularly noteworthy is the performance of Second Lieutenant Gábor Hirschler, who fought his way to 10th place in the individual standings in a highly competitive international field.
In the overall standings of last year’s competition, the team also celebrated the runner-up title.
The upcoming championship will demand technical skill and the highest level of concentration from the athletes.

The CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire) competitions traditionally consist of three core disciplines:
- Accuracy Landing: Landing on a spot as small as a coin.
- Style Jumping: Aesthetics and precision in free-fall maneuvers.
- Formation Skydiving: Coordination and synchrony within the group.

For the soldiers from Szolnok, the goal is clear. Preparations are in full swing to successfully represent the Hungarian national colors on the international podium again in 2026. The brigade states that the determination within the unit remains “unbroken.”
