Without the support of VMRO-DPMNE, there will be no constitutional amendments, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said today in an interview with Alsat-M television, pointing out that the current Government will not give in to, as he said, blackmail related to Bulgarian demands.
Mickoski assessed that the previous Government of SDSM and DUI “signed capitulation” by accepting those demands and presented three messages regarding the current political situation.
– I send generally three messages. The first message is that there will be no constitutional amendments without VMRO-DPMNE. The politicians from the opposition can be the soft fabric of the Macedonian identity and statehood, and that is what they have chosen, I can neither judge them nor give words of praise. Secondly, I am aware, absolutely, that the previous Government signed a white sheet of paper which we call capitulation, due to different interests. DUI had some interests then, SDSM had other interests. But what unites them is the thought and desire that if they sign a white sheet of paper, someone will simply give them victory in the parliamentary elections that followed. It is obvious that this did not happen and they are now in deep opposition and in the internal disintegration of the structures of both political parties – said Mickoski.
He added that the Government is aware of the obligations undertaken by the previous cabinet, but also of, as he stated, Bulgaria’s obligations regarding human rights.
– We know exactly what are the obligations that the previous Government undertook. But we also know exactly what are the commitments that a previous government of our eastern neighbor undertook, which is consistent respect for human rights by signing and ratifying the Resolution on respect for human rights. Today, you have at least 14 judgments of the Court of Human Rights with which Bulgaria undertakes to allow the registration of OMO Ilinden – Pirin, it refuses to do so. And this Resolution is much earlier before these conditions were accepted by the previous capitulating Macedonian government of SDSM and DUI – pointed out Mickoski.
