THE NEWLY INSTALLED Lions Club South Board of Directors, with Michael John (3rd right), returning as President of the Board.
The Lions Club South has formally installed its new Board of directors with Michael John at the helm for a second consecutive Lionistic Year- 2026-2027).
The installation took place on July 23, at the Computec conference room,where Lion Michael John MJF officially assumed office as the incoming President.
John outlined a dynamic vision for the upcoming Lionistic year centered on the theme: “Serving More, Reaching More, Impacting More”, a Lions release states.
Addressing board members, distinguished guests and fellow Lions President John expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in the new leadership team and pledged to uphold the organization’s long-standing legacy of dedicated community service across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
John is assisted in his duties by “a distinguished slate of officers” who were also installed on July 23.
The Board also comprises:
First vice president Lion Stephen Seymour; Second vice president Lion Sharon Williams; secretary Lion Sue-Mona Moses; treasurer Lion Elroy John, Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF), and membership chair Lion Colvin Harry- who were present for the installation.
Also elected to serve on the new executive body, but absent from the formal installation ceremony, are:
Marketing & Communications Chair: Lion Martin Sheen; Lion Tamer Lion Janeil George; and Tail Twister, Lion Ellsworth Providence.
The new leadership has highlighted several core pillars designed to expand public outreach and deepen community impact. These have been identified as: Pioneering Food Security Initiatives- Placing a major focus on national development, the Club will partner with primary and secondary schools to launch and support school poultry projects. This effort, the Club states in its release, aims to foster self-reliance, teach practical agricultural skills, and enhance youth nutrition.
Sustaining Signature Flagship Projects- Reaffirming a commitment to established traditions, the Club will continue its cornerstone initiatives, including: the Secondary School Public Speaking Competition, promoting leadership and communication among youth. The annual tree planting programme- fostering environmental stewardship. Lotto booth operations- providing vital funding to sustain community service projects.
Expanded Community & Health outreach- continuing dedicated support for environmental conservation, health initiatives, and direct relief for vulnerable individuals and families.
Strategic Partnerships- Strengthening collaborative efforts with schools, civic organizations, local businesses, and government agencies to maximize project reach and efficiency.
Lion President John concluded the ceremony with a passionate call to action for all members to actively engage in project execution, share innovative ideas, and invite prospective members to experience the power of Lionism.
