Martyr Al-Hafiz, May 31, 2026 (SPS) – Yesterday, Saturday, Minister of Social Affairs and Women’s Promotion, Asuilma Biruk, supervised the activities of the virtual symposium that the Martyr Sayyidami Al-Mukttar School for Women’s Promotion has been organizing monthly.
The symposium witnessed the presentation of a lecture entitled The Challenges Facing Sahrawi Women in the Diaspora, presented by Dr. Arroub Mohamed Lamin, President of the Dr. Betoha Association, and Dr. Omaima Hadhia, Member of the Board of Directors of the aforementioned Association.
During the lectures, an introduction to the association was presented, the circumstances of its establishment, its goals, and the most important achievements it has achieved.
After that, the two doctors touched on the most important challenges faced by women in the diaspora in general and the women of the Doctor’s Association in particular, and how they were able to overcome many of them with will and patience.
The lecture also emphasized the essential role of Sahrawi women in the diaspora in preserving the elements of national identity and transmitting the values and customs of the Sahrawi people across generations, as well as their effective contribution to spreading the national cause and introducing it within the host communities and transferring it to new arenas.
This lecture included rich discussions, most of which emphasized the necessity of coordination between active women’s associations in the diaspora and the exchange of experiences and expertise among their members in order to overcome all the difficulties and challenges facing them.
