Producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 2.6 per cent in March this year from March 2025, according to Statistics Finland.
The producer prices of manufactured products sold on the domestic market rose by 2.3 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 2.9 per cent.
The rise in the producer prices was particularly caused by higher prices of refined petroleum products and basic precious and other non-ferrous metals compared with last year’s March.
The increase in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of electricity and paper and paper products from a year ago.
The export price index went up by 2.9 per cent in a year.
The import price index went up by 3.0 per cent in a year.
The basic price index for domestic supply rose by 1.1 per cent from a year ago while the basic price index for domestic supply including taxes remained unchanged on average.
From February to March, producer prices for manufactured products went down by 1.4 per cent.
The decrease in producer prices was particularly caused by the lower prices of electricity and pharmaceutical preparations compared with the previous month.
The fall in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of refined petroleum products and basic metals compared with the previous month.
