FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Teams can now register for a co-ed 5v5 soccer tournament in Fayetteville this summer that will include matchups against players from the Marshall Islands national team.
The World Championship Fives will take place June 13-14 at Fayetteville High School. It is being organized by the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation in partnership with Experience Fayetteville.
Organizers say the tournament is intended to be part of a broader “World Cup Week Extravaganza,” though additional events under that banner have not yet been publicly announced.

The tournament is open to recreational, workplace and community teams and will be played in a co-ed 5v5 format, according to organizers. Matches are scheduled Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
A few World Cup matches, including Brazil vs. Morocco and Germany’s opener, are expected to be shown between games. Registered teams will have access to on-site viewing areas, and additional watch-party access will be available to the public for a fee, according to a news release.
Entry is $500 per team. Registration is open until May 22 at 6 p.m., and organizers say space is limited.
Registration details are available through the federation’s website.
