OPEC+ set to agree third oil output quota hike since Hormuz closure: OPEC+ is set to agree on a modest oil output hike on Sunday, according to sources who spoke to news agency Reuters. However, the increase will remain mostly on paper as long as the US-Iran war continues to disrupt Gulf oil supplies, they added. Seven OPEC+ countries, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Oman, have agreed in principle to raise oil output targets by about 188,000 barrels per day in June. In a rare crossing, the Marshall Islands-flagged Sarv Shakti, carrying about 45,000 tonnes of liquified petroleum gas (LPG), transited the Strait of Hormuz and moved into the Gulf of Oman after passing Iran’s Larak and Qeshm islands, according to ship-tracking data cited by Bloomberg. The voyage is being described as “the first observed passage by an India-linked tanker” since the blockade tightened traffic through the strategic waterway, reducing crossings to near zero.
