At the request of the Chartist deputy Esteban Samaniego (imputed), a majority in the Chamber of Deputies agreed to postpone for 60 days, until after the internal elections of June 7, the definition of seven requests for intervention to mayors suspected of corruption, among them, the father of the Chartist senator Hernán Rivas and mayor of Tomás Romero Pereira (Itapúa), Hernán Ysidro Rivas (ANR, HC), who to make matters worse, is seeking rekutu. Orders have been frozen since the middle of last year.
By 27 votes in favor of the postponement, 11 against and 3 abstentions, a majority of the Chamber of Deputies decided postpone for 60 days the processing of requests for intervention against 7 Colorado and opposition mayors.
“I request a postponement for 60 days“, he stated briefly and without even an argument the Chartist deputy Esteban Samaniegowho has four pending requests for removal of immunity, one of them for the criminal case for alleged diversion of funds when he was mayor of Quyquyhó.
“At least they won’t have my silence.”said the deputy Roberto Gonzalez (ANR, Añetete), opposing the request to postpone these seven requests for intervention that had requested last week to give a “final point” in one sense or another.
“I categorically oppose this postponement. It turns out that this It is the lie to continue postponing the treatment of acts of corruption. At least I want to distance myself from that strategy, or at least state my position and my commitment to transparency and legality,” which is why he asked for a vote to expose those who opposed.
These are cases of Hernan Ysidro Rivas (ANR-Honor Colorado), communal chief of Tomás Romero Pereira (Itapúa) and father of the Chartist senator Hernan David Rivas; from Ñemby (Central),Tomas Olmedo (ANR-Republican Force); from Lima (San Pedro), Juan Manuel Avalos (Alliance); from Ybyrarobaná (Canindeyú), Cesar Machuca (ANR-HC); that of Emboscada (Cordillera), Silvio Andrés Peña (PLRA); by Yby Yaú (Concepción), Vidal Arguello (Alianza) and Juan León Mallorquín (Alto Paraná), Elvio Coronel (Alliance).
On purpose, a Barça majority has been postponing these requests for intervention since at least October last year, precisely in order to claim that “there is no time left” for their treatment, since the internal municipal elections are on June 7while the generals on October 4.
However, several of these, who even have pending criminal investigations as is the case of Rivas’s father, Hernán Ysidro Rivas, and the mayor of Ñemby, Tomás Olmedo, point to the rekutu.
To make matters worse, these two had already been saved in 2023 from a first request for intervention.
