Libya’s Civil Aviation Authority has instructed all airlines operating in the country to implement stricter precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of Ebola through the country’s airports.
Under the directive, flight crews are required to identify and report any passengers showing symptoms consistent with Ebola on flights arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, as well as from Level 1 risk countries, South Sudan, Somalia, and Djibouti. Any suspected case must be reported to air traffic control before landing.
The authority also instructed airlines to submit passenger manifests for flights arriving from the listed countries to the International Health Control Office and to fully cooperate with National Center for Disease Control teams at airports to strengthen disease surveillance and preventive measures.
