Pope Leo XIV begins a six-day visit to Spain, his fourth international trip and the first to a country in the European Union, with activities that include meetings with authorities, young people and vulnerable sectors.
Pope Leo XIV arrives in Madrid to begin a six-day official visit to Spain. The pontiff is received by Kings Felipe VI and Letizia, as well as by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in an agenda that includes institutional meetings, public tours and pastoral activities.
According to the official program, Leo XIV participates in meetings with young people, visits a care center for homeless people managed by Cáritas and later moves to Barcelona and the Canary Islands. The tour constitutes his fourth international trip and the first to a country in the European Union since the beginning of his pontificate.
