La Clave returns on May 8 and 9 with an edition that focuses on merengue-house together with Proyecto Uno, while the Ríos Reyna Room of the Teresa Carreño Theater will host the symphonic gala Sanremo… without borders!.

The Key returns this May 8 and 9 with an edition that changes salsa for merengue-house and will have Proyecto Uno as international guests. The proposal, promoted by the production company Bajo el Arbol, marks a change in its concept after two years focused on salsa, with a party that seeks to renew the public’s connection with Latin music.

The Ríos Reyna room of the Teresa Carreño Theater will host the symphonic gala this May 9 at 5 pm Sanremo… without borders!a show that will pay tribute to Italian music within the framework of Mother’s Day. The proposal will bring together 26 classics performed by national voices together with an orchestra made up of musicians from El Sistema.
Sofía Castillo, Deborah Emperatriz, Natalia Díaz and Angelo Faría lead the group of performers, under the direction of Alfredo Rugeles, Joshua Dos Santos and Gregory Antonetti, in a concert that will evoke the spirit of the Italian festival. Tickets: between $10 and $40.


This May 10, Ricardo de Castro will appear at the Chacao Cultural Center to offer Juan Gabriel: Tribute to mothersa tribute to the iconic Mexican singer-songwriter that will bring together his most remembered songs in a special presentation for Mother’s Day.
The Colombian singer-songwriter, recognized for his interpretation of the artist and endorsed at the time by Juan Gabriel himself, will be accompanied by mariachi and band in a show that recreates the essence of the Mexican idol’s concerts.


The Cultural Center of Modern Art will dress up on Sunday, May 10 at 11:30 am with They are boleros: Tribute to Floria Márqueza special show that will celebrate Mother’s Day with a tribute to the remembered “Showwoman of Venezuela.”
Annaé Torrealba, Betsayda Machado, Corina Peña, Doris Rodríguez, Evlyn Pérez, Gisela Guédez, Marcia Piña, Mariolga, Minu Fayad and Yudith Rodríguez will participate in the concert, produced by David Peña and with the participation of pianist Pedrito López. Tickets: $20 and $30.


This May 9 it can be seen at Trasnocho Cultural The Adventures of The Lion Kinga family play by the Colibrí Theater Group that proposes a fable set in the African savanna, with more than 15 artists on stage. The story follows Abanobi, a young lion who, along with his friend Zina, embarks on a journey in search of his father while learning lessons about responsibility, bravery, and the true meaning of leading. In the Theater Room of the Chacao Cultural Center it will be presented this Saturday, May 9 at 5 pm Super Momcomedy written, directed and produced by Astrid Carolina Herrera. The work offers a humorous look at motherhood, by showing the most comical, extreme and contradictory situations that a woman faces in her role as a mother. Tickets: $5, $10 and $15.


Within the framework of the Centennial Series, the Teresa Carreño Theater will present Ligeti’s weba tribute concert to the composer György Ligeti that proposes a sound experience focused on contemporary and avant-garde music. The proposal will bring together the Caracas Contemporary Ensemble and the Teresa Carreño Opera Choir.
Under the direction of Elvis Pérez, the program will offer two performances in the José Félix Ribas Room: Friday, May 8 at 6 pm and Saturday, May 9 at 4 pm Tickets: $10.


The Chacao Cultural Center will receive from May 9 to 10 Two-scented rosethe renowned comedy by Mexican playwright Emilio Carballido. Under the direction of Adrián Delgado, the production brings together Alexandra Braun and María Antonieta Duque, who play two women who discover that they share the same man. Greasera flamenco theater monologue with dramaturgy by Guido Villamizar and Carmen Terife directed by Daniel Dannery, will be revived at Trasnocho Cultural from May 8 to 24.
Carmen Terife herself embodies this one-woman show that tells the story of a Venezuelan flamenco dancer, who through her dance takes us through her career and her memories. Performances: Fridays and Saturdays at 6 pm, and Sundays at 5 pm Tickets: $10 on Fridays and $12 on weekends.

In the Cultural Nightlife continues Terrora work by playwright Ferdinand von Schirach, directed by Héctor Manrique and produced by Grupo Actoral 80. The production presents the trial of a pilot who shoots down a hijacked plane with 164 passengers to prevent an attack against a stadium with 70,000 people, and turns the public into the jury in charge of deciding his guilt or innocence.
The play has a cast made up of Manrique himself, Rafael Romero, Julie Restifo, Daniel Rodríguez, Josette Vidal, Adolfo Nittoli, Sergio Malpica and Gisela Rojas. Performances: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm Tickets: $10 on Fridays and $15 on weekends.
In the same Trasnocho Cultural you can also see it until May 17 Guarenas-Guatirea production of La Caja de Fósforos with dramaturgy and direction by Antón Figuera. The montage follows two friends united by the dream of succeeding in art and by the hope of one day seeing the Guarenas-Guatire metro completed.

In the Rajatabla Room it continues We are all crazya work by Paul Williams directed by Jennifer Morales and produced by Andrés Moros. The piece presents a group of women whose experiences are intertwined between humor and intensity, in a look at emotions and human bonds.

And in the Theater Room of the Chacao Cultural Center it remains on a marquee Single, married, widowed and divorcedcomedy directed by Dairo Piñeres. This production brings together four friends who, from different stages of life, share experiences and reflections about their relationships, with a critical and confessional tone that focuses on their vision of men. The cast is made up of Raquel Yánez, Vanessa Senior, Liliana Meléndez and Flavia Gleske. The team is completed by Jeanhaiver Villalobos in directing assistance, Carlos Velarde in production and Laura Bolívar as stage assistant.
