Keiko Fujimori announced expansion of Beca 18 to promote higher education in Peru last

The president of the Republic, Keiko Fujimoriannounced that his government will expand the Scholarship 18 programwith the aim that a greater number of young people can access technical and university studies throughout the country.

The announcement was made during his first Message to the Nation for National Holidaysin which he highlighted that education will be one of the pillars of his management to generate equal opportunities and promote the development of Peruvian youth.

During his speech before Congressthe president reiterated that the expansion of Beca 18 will allow more young people to continue their professional training and access better job opportunities.

Fujimori maintained that the public education must recover its role as a true equality and social mobility toolespecially for talented students who face financial constraints.

In her speech, the president also dedicated a few words to Peruvian youth, encouraging them to maintain perseverance in the face of difficulties.

“I want to address young people to tell them, from here, from this place and from this moment in my life, that we are stronger than we thinkthat we can do more than we think and that we build resilience and perseverance day by day, because we can always get back up to start again,” said Fujimori.

The head of state stated that expand Scholarship 18 It is part of a strategy to strengthen access to higher education and reduce social gaps.

Likewise, he assured that his purpose is that no young person see their opportunities to study limited by the economic situation of your family or the place where you were born.
