Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) — Choe Son Hui, minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, had talks with Vivian Balakrishnan, foreign minister of the Republic of Singapore, at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on May 26.
Choe Son Hui expressed the stand of the DPRK government to develop the long-standing friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Singapore in conformity with the aspirations and wishes of the peoples of the two countries.
Vivian Balakrishnan wished the Korean people greater success in their work for the prosperity of the country, saying that the government and people of Singapore hope that the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK would grow stronger.
The talks exchanged views on developing the bilateral relations in a multifaceted way by boosting exchange and cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries and on regional and international issues.
Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Vice-Minister Pak Sang Gil and other officials of the Foreign Ministry and Ri Kil Song, DPRK ambassador to Singapore, and from the Singaporean side the foreign minister’s party.
The DPRK Foreign Ministry gave a reception in welcome of the Singaporean foreign minister and his party that evening. -0-
