Slovenian champion Janja Garnbret has set a new milestone. She celebrated her first World Cup victory of the year and her 50th overall jubilee victory with her feat in the climbing competition in Innsbruck. No one in sport climbing has as many victories as Garnbret.
The Olympic champion had a great time in the Tyrolean metropolis already yesterday, when she was the best in both the qualifiers and the semi-finals. In the final, she showed a new masterful performance for the jubilee feat. However, she did not conquer the top, she reached a height of 44, which was more than enough for a new triumph.
“I have to be honest, I feel absolutely amazing. The 50th win was somewhere in the back of my mind, but I tried to be relaxed and not think too much about it. I just felt like it was my day, I felt really great. Innsbruck always brings out the best in me. I felt amazing in the wall, as did the audience and the great atmosphere. It’s crazy that I achieved my 50th victory and I am immensely grateful for the support and love I receive,” said the Slovenian star Garnbret. She added: “Now I just want to enjoy it, and then I’ll definitely set some new goals. I said Bibliographie was my biggest goal this season, and I achieved it. I’ve also achieved my 50th win and it’s time to celebrate.”

Second place was won by an American woman Annie Sanders with a height of 38+, and the third place was awarded Chaehyun Seo from South Korea (36+). Our second finalist Rosa Rekar for the fifth place, with which she repeated her best achievement this season, reached a height of 33.
In the third attempt this year to the first victory
The 27-year-old Korošica achieved her fiftieth victory in her third attempt this year, after finishing in second place in the opening race in China. She recently became the first woman to climb the 9b+ natural rock route Bibliograhie in Ceüs. The successfully completed project, to which she devoted the last five years, gave her an additional incentive for new success on plastic walls.
In the final, one of our climbers also climbed Luka Potočarwhich, like in Prague, finished in sixth place. He fell on the grip 38+. Japanese Neo Suzuki and a Spaniard Alberto Gines Lopez reached the highest with a height of 42+. Victory went to Suzuki, who led Lopez after the semi-final. The third place was won by the local ace Jakob Schubert with a height of 42.
