Jakup Krasniqi’s daughter: The father has refused medical checks, will no longer accept care from the institutions in The Hague

Gresa Krasniqi, the daughter of the former Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Jakup Krasniqi, has publicly reacted a month after her father was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Specialized Chambers in The Hague.
Through a post, she announced that during a telephone conversation, her father told her that he refused to be checked by doctors and that he will no longer accept medical care from the institutions where he is being held.
“Some doctors came to check me, of course I refused them. I am here without a right, I have been denied every human right for six years, so I don’t even need their care. You should be informed that I will no longer accept any care from them,” she quoted her father as saying.
Gresa expressed her concern for Krasniqi’s condition and health, stressing that he is at an age when he needs special care.
“As a daughter, of course I was worried. Dad is at an age when he needs special care,” she wrote.
She has also expressed the feeling of helplessness in front of the situation in which her father is, criticizing the way he has been treated by international justice.
“How can I ask him to accept the care of those institutions, when he feels betrayed by the very justice that was supposed to protect him?”, wrote Krasniqi.
According to her, during the phone conversation, she only managed to say a few words of support.
“We are here, Dad. We want you strong, we want you healthy”, she quoted the words she addressed to her father.
At the end of the reaction, Gresa Krasniqi described her father’s sentence as injustice.
“Babi’s sentence is not a mistake waiting to be corrected. It is an injustice!”, she concluded.
