The Kuwaiti army announced on Sunday that its air defenses responded to enemy missile and drone attacks, while the Bahraini Ministry of Interior confirmed that sirens had been sounded.
The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said that the sounds of explosions – if they are heard – are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks, calling on everyone to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the competent authorities.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the repeated Iranian attacks, considering them a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security. She added that Iran’s continued attacks undermine efforts aimed at reducing escalation in the region.
For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the sounding of sirens during two different periods, calling on citizens and residents to remain calm, go to the nearest safe place, and follow the news through official channels. The Bahrain Defense Force said that air defense systems intercepted a number of Iranian air attacks.
She added that Iran continues its hostile approach through its missile and drone attacks on civilians. The Bahraini Interior Ministry confirmed that there was material damage to a residential building in Muharraq Governorate, without any loss of life as a result of the Iranian attack.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry, in a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency, expressed its condemnation “in the strongest terms” of the attack, stressing that the continuation of these attacks “puts the Iranian regime responsible for undermining peace.”
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, condemned “in the strongest terms the Iranian terrorist attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, with a number of ballistic missiles and drones.”
Al Budawi said in a statement today, Sunday: These treacherous attacks are a direct threat to the security, stability and safety of citizens and residents of the territories of Bahrain and Kuwait, and a clear violation of the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, in light of the efforts of international and regional efforts seeking to establish security and peace and resolve the crisis, and that the continuation of these Iranian attacks undermines these efforts and efforts.
He affirmed the Gulf Cooperation Council’s support for all measures taken by Bahrain and Kuwait to enhance their security, preserve their sovereignty, and protect their people and those residing on their lands.
