Iran’s response to new threats will be “instant, forceful and geographically unlimited,” the country’s leader says.
Iran’s Supreme LeaderMojtaba Khamenei, warns the US against resuming attacks on the country.
This is what he says according to the news agency AFP.
At the same time, according to Reuters, any threat will be met with an “immediate, forceful and geographically unlimited” response.
– If the enemies launch military or terrorist attacks again, it will be up to the armed forces to determine the time and conditions for stopping it, it reads.
Khamenei has also ordered an update to the list of military targets to bring US and Israeli assets within “strike range”.
The production of ammunition and weapons must also be increased in case of upcoming missions.
Iran’s supreme leader did not immediately elaborate on whether there is an imminent threat.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has however previously spoken that a possible attack could be on the way.
Then it was said that the US government “might be doing another little Epic Fury”.
“Epic Fury” is the American name for the major military operation that was launched when the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28 this year.
The United States and Iran have not carried out major attacks on land targets since the beginning of September, but vessels in the Strait of Hormuz have been hit at regular intervals.
Mediators from Qatar presented a draft for Iran on Sunday in Tehran for an agreement to end the war with the United States and Israel.
Previous attempts at mediation resulted on 17 June in a document of understanding being drawn up.
But since then, both a ceasefire and the document of understanding have collapsed.
Meanwhile, the wider unrest in the Middle East continues, which has led to major disruptions to global shipping and oil supplies. In recent weeks, the Houthi movement in Yemen has repeatedly attacked Saudi Arabia.
