He Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA) advances in the acquisition process 500 thousand pieces of picnic ham from 100% national productionwith a view to guaranteeing the supply of this product during end-of-year activities throughout the country.
The director of the IMA, Nilo Murillo, reported that the institution works with the processing companies to finalize the acquisition of the pieces that will be destined for the traditional fairs that take place during the Christmas season.
Murillo also explained that the IMA is paying approximately 95% of the hams purchasedwhich represents some $12 million. The official highlighted that these payments are part of the financial management of the purchase of this national product.
The official also announced that the IMA Christmas bags will have new products this yearas part of an expansion of the offer that seeks to make food available to consumers at affordable prices.
The director of the entity, Nilo Murillo, explained that the IMA works in a coordinated manner with national producers to make foods such as rice, canned and tomato pasteamong other products that are part of its offer.
Murillo highlighted that this strategy makes it possible to bring food closer to families and, at the same time, generate spaces for the commercialization of products from the national market.
In this way, the IMA seeks to complement the food supply and support local producers through the distribution and marketing of their products.
