According to the Secretariat of Mobility (Semovi), to renew the circulation card online it is necessary to have the CDMX Key on hand. If you do not have it, it is possible to create it through the portal https://llave.cdmx.gob.mx.
Subsequently, the basic documents are:
- Current official identification (INE, Military Service card, passport, professional ID, driver’s license or Residence card).
- Legal personality accreditation documents. Natural persons must have a power of attorney signed in front of two witnesses and identification of the interested party and the person carrying out the procedure; while legal entities need the articles of incorporation, power of attorney and official identification of the representative or attorney-in-fact.
- Proof of payment of fees for endorsement of circulation card.
Eye! It is important not to have possession debts, endorsements or fines.
Additionally, to begin the process on the portal, you need the expired registration card number, vehicle identification number (NIV or VIN) and the vehicle license plates.
The cost of renewal for private cars is $433, according to the payments and procedures section of the official portal of the CDMX Secretariat of Administration and Finance.

Once you have all the documents and data, take the following steps to renew your circulation card online:
- Enter the site https://tramites.cdmx.gob.mx/tarjeta-circulacion/public/
- Click “Endorsement my card”.
- Log in with the CDMX Key.
- Select “I want to pay online or generate a capture line”.
- Enter the license plate number.
- Pay with credit or debit card. For cash, get the catch line and download it.
- Print and save the receipt.
If you generate a capture line and make the payment at one of the Service Centers of the Ministry of Administration and Finance, consider that it may take up to 72 hours to be reflected.
Finally, while you receive your new document, we recommend that you carry the previous circulation card and proof of the printed endorsement. This in case an officer asks you for it.
