The government is currently focused on completing the procedures for the completion of the Clinical Hospital in Shtip, the construction of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Student Dormitory in Shtip, as well as for the hospitals in Kicevo and Tetovo. While the procedures for these projects are ongoing, the Government is already thinking about the construction of a new modern Clinical Center in Skopje, noted at today’s press conference the President of the Government, Hristijan Mickoski, who answered a journalist’s question when the procedures could begin and how quickly they could take place for the construction of the new facility of the Clinical Center in Skopje.
Prime Minister Mickoski indicated that for the hospitals in Shtip, Kichevo and Tetovo and for the new Faculty of Medical Sciences and Dorm for Students in Shtip they had an international call to find financiers for these projects, reported MIA.
– Here we already had an international call to find financiers and we already have offers that are non-binding, indicative, that are offers for us, I would say, really favorable and acceptable. We need to finish these projects, and it is logical that in the meantime we are also thinking about the large Clinical Center that should be built in Skopje. We are looking at one location. It is the location in front of the “Boris Trajkovski” swimming pool, because that location is on two boulevards, access to gas, close to the ring road, which means not only for the capital and Macedonia as a country, but we can attract patients from neighboring countries, who will use the services of this, I would say, as is our plan, ultra-modern Clinical Center. But that plot is private property. We are negotiating with the owner to see if we can find a replacement for that plot, for the state to get it, then with a special law to change its purpose – Mickoski said.
The Prime Minister added that the plan is to make a warm underground passage under “Ilindenska” boulevard, which will be connected to the existing “8th of September” and the PET center polyclinic “Bucharest”.
– So this project will cover a complete rounded complex. You know that we had a big investment in “8th Septemvri”, the hospital. You were present, you saw, truly state-of-the-art equipment, unique in the Balkans. That is our ambition and after we complete the procedure with these previous projects, it will be the main focus of our priorities. Let’s make this long-announced project where it should be and where it belongs and where citizens can use it. So, in this way, we appreciate that we will not only develop the state, but also respond to the needs of the citizens where they are most needed – says Mickoski.
Asked about the time frame, Mickoski answered that if everything goes well, he expects that next year will be the start of activities for the construction of the new ultra-modern Clinical Center in Skopje.
