In a new episode of “Podcast with Nayla“, the Lebanese beauty expert appeared Hala Ajam As her fans know her: a quiet woman, far from the noise despite her work in the world of spotlight, and clinging to a conviction that has not changed throughout decades of success. For her, makeup is not a way to change a woman or hide her behind a new mask, but rather a tool to highlight her true identity and preserve her special features.
From drawing to the world of beauty
Ajam reveals that her first passion was not makeup, but drawing. Since her childhood, she was drawn to art and colors, before circumstances led her to the world of beauty. However, this artistic background remained present in everything she did, and formed her own vision of the face as an artistic space that requires an understanding of dimensions, light and shadow, not just the application of cosmetics.
From this standpoint, she developed what she describes as the “3D face,” a concept based on highlighting features in a natural way that makes the image more beautiful without the woman losing her identity or original features.
From Lebanon to America…and back to the roots
Hala Ajam lived for a period of her life in the United States, but she confirms that being away from Lebanon made her more connected to it. According to her expression, a person only realizes the value of Lebanon when he moves away from it and lives outside it.
Despite the difficulties that the country went through in recent years, she chose to return and continue in it. She believes that life is neither completely black nor entirely rosy, but rather a mixture of sweet and bitter moments.
She says: “Nothing is always bitter or always sweet. There are sweet moments and bitter moments… and life goes on.”
She believes that her faith is what gives her inner peace and the ability to face challenges, and makes her sleep reassured no matter how difficult the circumstances around her are.
Claudia Schiffer And international stations
Throughout her career, Hala Ajam has worked with a large number of well-known artists and personalities, but one of the most prominent stops at which she proudly stops is the photo session she carried out for the international model. Claudia Schiffer.
She recounts that this experience was one of the first works that achieved widespread professional resonance, at a time when social media did not exist to highlight the names working behind the camera. However, that experience remained proof that talent and hard work are capable of taking their individual to the world.
Against blind imitation
In a time when social media imposes similar beauty standards, Ajam refuses to blindly follow trends. She does not believe in the existence of a single template for beauty, and does not believe that the success of makeup is measured by the extent to which it conforms to popular fashion.
For her, the problem is not inspiration, but copying. Every woman has a different personality and features, and what suits one of them may not suit another.
She summarizes her professional philosophy with a simple phrase: “There is nothing that does not suit anyone. Smartness is to give a person what makes him feel comfortable.”
Natural beauty first
Despite working with brides, artists, and celebrities, Ajam is still partial to simple, natural makeup. She believes that true beauty is not measured by the amount of products used, but rather by the ability of makeup to preserve a woman’s identity and show the best in her.
She warns against getting carried away by the trends that change on a daily basis, noting that excessive follow-up of everything published on social media may lead to a loss of personal identity and harm the skin in the long term.
What do you wish for Lebanon?
When Nayla Tueni asked her what she wanted for Lebanon, she did not talk about major projects or political plans, but rather about the people. About the children who were deprived of school, about the families who lived in harsh conditions, and about the right of the Lebanese to live a normal life away from anxiety and fear.
She stressed that every person has his work, his family, and his dreams, and that the Lebanese deserve to rest after everything they have lived through over the past years.
At the conclusion of the episode, Hala Ajam summarized her vision of life and her work with a sentence that seemed like a summary of her entire career:
“Be inspired…do not copy…and do not exaggerate.”
Advice that applies to the world of beauty as much as it applies to life itself; For her, originality remains more beautiful than any passing fad, and true identity is more important than any duplicate.
