Gulf News | The Minister of Health chairs the tenth meeting of the Gulf Ministerial Committee for Food Safety. Strengthening readiness to cope with the challenges in light of the repercussions of the sinful Iranian attacks.

In its extraordinary session today, the House of Representatives will decide the fate of dropping the membership of the three representatives, Abdulnabi Salman, Mamdouh Al-Saleh, and Mahdi Al-Shuwaikh.

The Council’s Legislative Committee had prepared its report on the request submitted by 37 deputies to drop the membership of the three deputies, confirming in its report presented to the Council that the request submitted was due to the actions they had taken, which constituted a breach of their membership duties and caused them to lose the trust, consideration, and honor of representing citizens, in the twenty-eighth regular session of the fourth regular annual session of the sixth legislative term, held on April 28, 2026.

The report explained that the committee discussed the request to drop the membership of the representatives at its meeting on May 4, 2026 AD, pointing out that the committee meeting was chaired by Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives, in the presence of Counselor Dr. Saleh Ibrahim Al-Ghaith, Chairman of the Legal Advisors Authority, and Dr. Muhannad Saleh Al-Tarawneh, Legal Advisor for Committee Affairs. The committee also reviewed the legal memorandum submitted by Dr. Muhannad Saleh Al-Tarawneh, Legal Advisor for Committee Affairs.

The report stated that the committee invited MP Abdul Nabi Salman Ahmed, MP Mamdouh Abbas Al-Saleh, and MP Mahdi Abdul Aziz Al-Shuwaikh to attend the meeting to listen to their statements and defenses regarding the request to revoke their membership.

The committee’s report touched on a summary of the reasons for submitting the request to revoke membership, explaining that the representatives against whom the request to revoke membership was submitted took a position that was inconsistent with the parliamentary oath and national duty, as they took a position criticizing the measures taken by the state against those who glorify the sinful Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially revoking the citizenship of the perpetrators of those shameful acts, and those whose citizenship was subsequently revoked, and their speech included criticism of the measures taken by the state and questioning their justice, and that was During the House of Representatives session held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and during the discussion of Decree Law No. (13) of 2024 amending Article (7) of the Judicial Authority Law issued by Decree Law No. (42) of 2002.

They also voted to reject the decree law, which aroused the ire of the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the anger of His Majesty the King, who confirmed in his speech to the media on April 30, 2026 that the ordeal that the nation went through revealed faces and dropped the masks, when the Kingdom of Bahrain was subjected to a sinful Iranian aggression that targeted its security, stability, and the safety of its people. His Majesty expressed his deep anger at what happened, stressing that his anger is nothing but a sincere translation of anger. An entire people, asking His Majesty how he would not be angry when he saw those whom the nation had entrusted with its capabilities stabbing its side, and those whom the people had elected to represent it standing alongside the traitors whom public opinion had condemned and denounced their heinous act.

Regarding the legislative institution, His Majesty the King expressed his regret at the fact that some legislators sided with traitors, instead of being a shield for the nation and a voice for truth. His Majesty affirmed his concern for the unity of ranks and the purity of the Parliament. His Majesty believes that whoever is willing to stand with those who attacked the nation should go to them and join them. There is no place among us for those who support our enemies. His Majesty the King added, “The Parliament is a trust, and representation is an honor, not an honor.” Those whose hands were stained by betrayal of the homeland deserve it. There is no place for them among our honorable people, and they have no honor in representing them after today. Souls will not calm down and stabilize and life will return to normal except by purging the ranks of every traitor and accomplice.”

The report indicated that what the representatives whose membership was requested to be dropped of siding with the traitors instead of being a shield for the homeland and a voice for truth did, constituted a violation of the unity of the nation, made them lose trust and prestige, and was a violation of the duties of membership and the honor of representing citizens. This constituted a direct violation of the directives of His Majesty the King, who ordered the withdrawal of citizenship from anyone proven to be linked to or glorified those sinful Iranian attacks, and whoever agreed to stand with those who attacked the homeland. Let him go to them and join them, for there is no place among us for anyone who supports our enemies.

The report stated that a vote was taken to drop the membership of the three representatives, and all eight members of the committee present agreed to recommend dropping the membership.

The committee said that after reviewing the constitution and the internal regulations of the House of Representatives, and examining and discussing the request to drop membership, and after meeting with MP Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, MP Mamdouh Abbas Al-Saleh, and MP Mahdi Abdulaziz Al-Shuwaikh, listening to their statements and verifying the aspects of their defenses, the committee studied the issue, then made its decision individually with its members in accordance with the legal rules, and after research and deliberation, the committee recommends unanimously its present members to agree to drop the membership of the representative. Abdulnabi Salman, Representative Mamdouh Abbas Saleh, and Representative Mahdi Al-Shuwaikh.
