A number of members of the House of Representatives affirmed that the Bahraini press continues to perform its leading national role as the pulse of society, the conscience of the nation, and the first line of defense for national awareness, stressing that the national media has demonstrated, across various stages, its responsible professional presence in conveying the truth and enhancing societal cohesion. On the occasion of Bahraini Press Day, they pointed out that the royal patronage enjoyed by the media sector and continuous government support contributed to consolidating the freedom of responsible speech and developing media performance, thus enhancing its role in supporting the development process, confronting misinformation campaigns, and consolidating the values of national unity.

At the beginning, the Chairman of the Finance and Economic Committee, MP Ahmed Sabah Al-Saloum, confirmed that the national media has proven, through various stages, its ability to carry out its message with high professionalism and responsibility, by conveying facts and enhancing community awareness, in a way that reflects the civilized image of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and contributes to maintaining the stability and cohesion of society in light of the accelerating changes and challenges.

He explained that the speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, addressed to the press and media community, reflected an advanced national vision based on consolidating freedom of responsible speech and enhancing professionalism, noting that this directive represents an important motivation for continuing to develop media performance.

He also praised the support that the press receives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressing that the Bahraini media has proven its ability to deal with challenges and distinguish between freedom of opinion and attempts to spread chaos or distort facts, which contributed to protecting awareness and strengthening national alignment.

Representative Maryam Hassan Al-Sayegh confirmed that the Bahraini press represents the pulse of society and the conscience of the people, and was and still is at the forefront of defending the nation and its gains, in light of the high royal patronage and continuous government support.

In turn, MP Walid Jaber Al-Dosari stressed that the Bahraini press represents the first line of defense for national awareness, and contributes to consolidating the values of loyalty, belonging and national unity, in light of the support and care it receives.

He pointed out that the coincidence of Bahraini Press Day with the “Great Year of Jesus” doubles the national responsibility to strengthen the media discourse in support of national identity, stressing that the media has proven its role as an advanced front in confronting challenges and confronting smear and rumor campaigns.

MP Abdullah Hassan Al-Dhaen stressed that the Bahraini press was and will remain the conscience of the nation, the voice of the citizen, and a bulwark in defending national gains and promoting the values of unity and cohesion.

He pointed out that the national media proved, during the challenges, that it stood by the nation, revealed the facts and confronted rumours, which strengthened security and stability.
