A delegation from the Economic Development Board, headed by Nour bint Ali Al Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board, is participating in the Milken Institute’s global conference, which will be held from May 3 to May 6 in Los Angeles, California.
The conference brings together the most influential global leaders in the sectors of business, finance, technology, philanthropy and civil society, with the aim of discussing a number of issues that affect global markets and achieving long-term prosperity.
The conference focuses on benefiting from various fields of modern development and innovation in developing practical solutions to build a more sustainable and resilient future. This year, the conference is being held under the title “Leadership in a New Era.” The conference program for 2026 includes holding high-level dialogues that include topics of global markets and the fields of innovation, financial security, and international cooperation, with a focus on translating research and visions into practical strategies that explore opportunities, economic flexibility, and achieving shared prosperity.
Nour bint Ali Al-Khalif participated in the conference program, which addressed a number of contemporary issues through a dialogue session entitled “The Resilience Industry: Adaptation and Growth in the Middle East,” along with Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Jenny Johnson, CEO of Franklin Templeton.
During the session, Nour Bint Ali Al-Khalif highlighted the flexibility of the Kingdom of Bahrain in implementing a development model by promoting economic diversification, encouraging effective cooperation between the public and private sectors, and following a partnership-based approach supported by a number of components, including advanced infrastructure, political support, and efforts towards regional and international integration, which in turn contributes to supporting ongoing work efforts, enhancing investor confidence, and continuing to achieve long-term growth with the changes and challenges the world is witnessing.
The Economic Development Board delegation participating in the conference included Stephen K. Bondi, Senior Advisor for American Strategic Investments, Mohammed Al-Alawi, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Musab Abdullah, Executive Director of the Information and Communications Technology Sector, and Ishaq Ishaq, Executive Director of the Industry, Transport and Logistics Sector. The delegation members also held business meetings with a group of current and potential investors, in addition to participating in a number of business meetings and forums.
