Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sirafi, Minister of Tourism, confirmed that the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing increasing indicators since the launch of the “And Here is to You” campaign and the resumption of tourism and entertainment events and programs, which was reflected in the increase in the number of visitors coming to the Kingdom during the Eid Al-Adha holiday from brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Al-Sayrafi stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s readiness for the summer season in light of the growing local and Gulf demand by highlighting the Kingdom’s diverse tourism experiences that meet different interests and age groups, in addition to launching a group of tourism packages in cooperation with tourism offices in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, stressing that the indicators recorded during the recent period reflect the momentum witnessed by the Bahraini destination and its advanced position as a preferred choice for family visits.
She pointed out that the resumption of tourism programs in partnership with the private sector contributed to stimulating tourism activity and enhancing visitors’ experience, pointing out that the positive results achieved are the result of continuous cooperation between the public and private sectors, and the accompanying joint efforts to develop tourism products, enhance the quality of services, and attract more events and investments that contribute to supporting the growth of the sector and raising its competitiveness.
Al-Sayrafi stressed that the advanced tourism infrastructure that the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys, in addition to the ease of access and the diversity of tourism and entertainment options, constitute supportive factors for continued growth, stressing the continued work with all partners to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading and preferred tourist destination for visitors.
She said that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to host a variety of cultural, entertainment and sporting events, exhibitions and conferences, in a way that supports the sustainability of tourism activity throughout the year, contributes to achieving the goals of the tourism strategy for the years 2022-2026, and increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to the national economy.
