The bridge maintenance contract topped the list of new government tenders offered through the Tenders and Auctions Board, as the Ministry of Works announced the launch of a time contract for bridge maintenance work and related facilities during the period 2026-2028, in a step aimed at maintaining the efficiency and safety of the road network infrastructure.
The project includes maintenance work for all bridges, flyovers, tunnels, water channels, and signage structures, in addition to inspection, evaluation and repair operations, maintenance of cathodic protection systems for marine facilities, replacement of expansion joints and metal and concrete barriers, and inspection of loading devices in a number of bridges. The value of the initial guarantee amounted to 5 thousand dinars, while the contract period lasts for two years.
In the health sector, primary health care centers issued a tender to provide 29 drivers and shift supervisors for a period of four years, with the aim of supporting the transfer of medicines, medical supplies, devices, patients, employees and medical samples, in addition to supervising the distribution of drivers and ensuring regular workflow. The value of the initial guarantee is 4 thousand dinars. The Bahrain International Circuit also announced a tender to provide six plumbers to work in all its facilities and infrastructure for a period of five years, with the possibility of providing additional labor when needed, and with an initial guarantee of 1,000 dinars. As part of enhancing the services provided to patients, primary health care centers launched a bid to rent space in 15 health centers to install 15 self-service machines for selling orange juice, with a contract extending for four years, with the winning company undertaking maintenance and periodic cleaning of the machines throughout the contract period. These proposals reflect continued investment in maintaining infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency of health services, and developing the operation of public facilities, providing new opportunities for local and Gulf companies to compete for government contracts.
