The Tunisian American Young Professionals (TAYP) held its annual national gathering April 24-26, 2026 at the Turf Valley Resort in Maryland. The event brought together a wide range of participants, including professionals, entrepreneurs, students and figures from the Tunisian diaspora in the United States, as well as guests from Canada, France and Tunisia.
Speaking this Thursday, April 30, 2026, the charge d’affaires of the Tunisian embassy in Washington, Anis Hajri, stressed that this meeting aims above all to strengthen intergenerational ties within the diaspora. According to him, it offers concrete opportunities for exchange between students, young professionals and experienced experts, thus promoting the emergence of prospects in terms of employment, investment and lasting partnerships.
During his speech on Express Fm, the diplomat highlighted the strategic role of Tunisian skills abroad in the country’s international influence. He insisted on their contribution through the transfer of know-how and their involvement in various projects, while recalling the embassy’s commitment to maintaining a permanent link with the Tunisian community in order to ensure support and support.
Anis Hajri also noted that many Tunisian talents occupy positions within large international companies such as Google and Microsoft, testifying to their level of excellence and their ability to serve as a bridge between Tunisia and its international environment. In this context, he announced the upcoming organization of a meeting dedicated to the founders of Tunisian startups, in order to strengthen their support.
On another level, he specified that Tunisian diplomatic action revolves around two complementary axes: support for the diaspora and the promotion of skills abroad, on the one hand, and the strengthening of relations with American investors, on the other hand. An approach which, according to him, is based not only on information, but also on active monitoring and continuous support.
