Turmush — There are several caves in the It-Onlgon area of the Naryn region.
About this to the correspondent Turmush said local resident Bakyt Asakeev, who receives foreign tourists.
According to legend, a valuable treasure was once hidden in one of the caves: diamonds and gold items.
According to B. Asakeev, this cave is called “Khan-Salyk”.
“As you know, the Kyrgyz were a nomadic people and, as folk legends say, they did not take their treasures with them when moving from one place to another, because it was dangerous. Khans and bai-manaps hid their wealth among the mountains and in caves. One of them, called “Khan-Salyk”, is located at an altitude of 2700-2800 meters above sea level, in the wintering area of Sary-Bel (in a rock located in the It-Onlgon area). To get to the cave located at the top of the mountain and go back down, the Kyrgyz used lassos and pieces of bones with animal meat. They drove pieces into the crevices with all their might, building improvised steps. After the nimble young men had hidden the jewels of the khan or bai, a prayer was read near the entrance to the cave, as if closing the passage there for strangers. It is said that Muslim scriptures can be found near the caves,” he said.
Bakyt noted that in 1985-1986, a Russian climber climbed to the Khan-Salyk cave on the Zhel-Tegirmen peak and found an old book there – it was the Koran in a thick leather cover.
“I saw this found book with my own eyes. It can be seen that it was made a long time ago. However, the climber did not talk about the treasure: whether he saw it or not,” he added.
