The senator and pre-candidate of PL to the Presidency of the Republic, Flavio Bolsonarostated this Saturday (27), in Goiâniawho hopes to have at his side in the presidential race a vice “as qualified” as the one chosen by the party to form the ticket for the government of Goiás.
As shown by Sheethe bet on the ad of a woman in vice to brake negative effects with female voters in the video released on Wednesday (24) by the former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), in which she says she was disrespected and mistreated by the stepson.
Flávio avoided commenting on the episode involving his stepmother during this Saturday’s event, but praised the name of Ana Paula Rezende as Wilder Morais’ deputy to the Government in the candidacy for the Government of Goiás. The event to launch the PL pre-candidacy in the state was also attended by the party’s national president, Valdemar Costa Neto.
“Wilder is a privileged person to have at his side a woman as qualified as Ana Paula (Rezende). I ask God that I also have the privilege of having a deputy as qualified as you, as willing to collaborate with the future of the country as you are willing to collaborate with the future of Goiás”, he stated during a PL event.
On Friday night (26), also in Goiânia, Flávio stated that the disagreement with Michelle is “a move forward” and a “turned page”. When asked by the press if he had spoken to the former first lady, he did not respond directly. He only said that he had visited his father, the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and that “everything was fine”.
Jokingly, the senator stated that he was wearing a “white peace blouse to look forward.”
On Wednesday (24), the former first lady released videos on social media in which she claimed to have been disrespected and humiliated by her stepson during a telephone conversation about party decisions.
Michelle reported that Flávio said it would be better for her to stay out of the PL’s decisions and that she didn’t understand anything about politics.
“In the face of this humiliation, I told him that everything was fine. I understood that he didn’t want my support or that it was insignificant. And then I withdrew. I kept to myself, and I remain that way,” said the former first lady in one of the videos.
Michelle also criticized the PL’s alliance in Ceará with government pre-candidate Ciro Gomes (PSDB) and stated that it had been the target of coordinated attacks by members of the senator’s political environment.
After the videos were released, Flávio released an apology to his stepmother, first in a note and then in a video. According to the pre-candidate’s allies, the strategy now is to close the matter and avoid further wear and tear in the pre-campaign.
Behind the scenes, Flávio’s assistants argue that the presidential ticket should be made up of a woman. One of the names that began to be speculated is that of economist Daniella Marques, former president of Caixa Econômica Federal.
Quoted to take over the economic area in a possible senator’s government, Daniella joined the Republicans in April, without previously informing the national leadership of the party. Although he says he never discussed the matter with Flávio, his affiliation fueled speculation about a possible candidacy for vice president, especially as he had a technical and moderate profile and met the pre-candidate’s preference for a woman on the ticket.
