28-year-old Tajik boxer Bakhodur Usmonov lost by technical knockout to 34-year-old Russian boxer Artur Subkhankulov. For the Tajikistani, this defeat was the first at the professional level.
A boxing evening took place in Ufa, in the main event of which Bakhodur Usmonov (12-1) from Tajikistan and Russian Artur Subkhankulov (12-0) held an IBF lightweight contender fight. The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds.
Arthur Subkhankulov defeated Bakhodur Usmonov: the fight ended in a technical knockout. Usmonov was knocked down twice in the tenth round and once in the 11th.
It was not a fight, but a real film drama: cuts, exchanges, knockdowns, broken faces. In the middle of the fight, it seemed that Bakhodur had completely seized control, and Arthur was tired and missed a lot.
But Subkhankulov found the strength in himself and turned the situation in his favor in the end: Bakhodur got up every time after knockdowns, but in the 12th round the referee ended the fight early.
Usmonov suffered the first defeat in his career as a professional boxer; he has 12 victories (five by knockout). As for Subkhankulov, he now has 12 wins (six by knockout). The Russian retained his status as an undefeated boxer.
Now Subkhankulov will qualify for a meeting with the full-fledged holder of the IBF lightweight belt, American Raymond Murataya.
Usmonov previously fought in December 2025, defeating Maxie Hughes by majority decision. Subkhankulov entered the ring in February 2026, defeating Virgel Vitor by technical knockout in the tenth round.
