This is the second highest expenditure on medical expenses abroad by advisers of the interim government.
Dr. asked about receiving treatment abroad. Salehuddin Ahmed said, ‘I performed my duty very honestly. At some point physical complications arise. It could not be identified in the country. Later, I was forced to undergo treatment in Singapore with the approval of the government in due process. I took treatment there three times.’
During the interim government, this adviser presented a budget of 790 thousand crore rupees for the fiscal year 2025-26. Out of this, 41 thousand 908 crores have been allocated for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which is 0.000189 percent of the total health budget. Every year millions of Bangladeshis go to different countries for medical treatment.
AFM Khalid Hossain, the former adviser on religious affairs of the interim government, is in the first position with Tk 81 lakh 91 thousand 488 for medical treatment abroad. Outside of Salehuddin Ahmed, Foreign Affairs Advisor Tauhid Hossain took the third highest medical bill abroad. He took 8 lakh 70 thousand 744 taka. Cultural Affairs Adviser Mustafa Saryar Faruqi took Tk 7 lakh 15 thousand 649.
Electricity consultant Fawzul Kabir Khan took 5 lakh 39 thousand 935 taka. Land advisor Hasan Arif took 2 lakh 67 thousand 216 taka. 2 lakh 35 thousand 729 taka has been taken by the education advisor. M Aminul Islam. Ali Imam Majumder, food adviser, took 1 lakh 70 thousand 134 taka.
Apart from this, planning advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmud took 67 thousand 367 taka. Industrial adviser Adilur Rahman Khan took Tk 31 thousand 52. Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor. Anisuzzaman 21 thousand 800 taka. Sheikh Moinuddin, adviser of the rank of state minister, took Tk 4 thousand 160 for treatment.
The Cabinet Department oversees the treatment of ministers or advisors. They submitted their bills on treatment abroad to the cabinet department. Later it was added to the account of the ministers.
Ministers or advisers in the country also get treatment free of cost. They usually seek treatment in government or autonomous hospitals. The hospital authority does not collect that bill from the ministers.
