The Paraguayan driver Joshua Duerksen, who finished 4th in the Monaco GP sprint race – fourth round of the FIA F2 – and in which he scored 5 points, was penalized again by the FIA and the sanction will affect his starting position in tomorrow’s feature race.
After having finished in the fourth place of the sprint race of the Monaco GP –which is disputed this weekend for the fourth appointment of the 2026 calendar of the FIA Formula 2– and in which added points again in the contest (5 in total to reach 21 and stay in the 10th place of the standings table), our compatriot Joshua Duerksen was penalized again by the commissioners of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
This time, the penalty to joshua came as a consequence of the following: “During the qualifying session, the driver of car number 2 rendered the right front tires of both sets of Option compounds unusable.“The compound optionrefers to the softest and grippiest tire option Available for a race weekend.

“The stewards did not consider this to be a cause of force majeure, meaning that the number 2 car cannot comply with article 24.15 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations for the main race“That is to say, The tires used by Duerksen in qualifying, with excessive wear, are not suitable for use in tomorrow’s feature race (4:25) for safety reasons.hence you will have to opt for new ones.
Therefore, The FIA decided to sanction the Paraguayan with a penalty of five positions on the starting grid for the main racesince that is when it will be required the use of the new optional tire.
Thus, the pilot of the Invicta Racing will leave tomorrow from 18th position, in the ninth row (he qualified 10th and was penalized twice: three places, 13th; and five places, 18th)and will depend solely and exclusively on a good startto which we are accustomed; and of a great team strategy with the obligatory stop included. Furthermore, expect that some “safety car” brought him closer to the points zone (they add up to the top ten).
