The FBP local group Schaan proposes the incumbent deputy head Markus Beck as a candidate for head office in the 2027 local council elections. The party announced this in a media release on Tuesday. The formal nomination is scheduled for June 14th.
Markus Beck grew up in Schaan and lives there with his family. Professionally, he is deputy head of gaming supervision at the Office of Economic Affairs. His political experience is extensive: he sat on the local council from 2011 to 2019 before he was elected deputy mayor. During this time, as long-time chairman of the fair and sports commission, he played a significant role in shaping social life in Schaan. As a community protection coordinator and bee inspector, he is also committed to safety and nature.
According to a press release, Beck justifies his candidacy with his close ties to the community and the goal of actively and reliably shaping the future of Schaan. The focus of his political style is solution orientation, direct dialogue and transparent communication. Schaan should remain an attractive place to live and work for all generations.
In parallel to the candidacy for mayor, the FBP Schaan wants to put together a complete team of candidates for the 2027 local council elections in the coming months. The most important local issues should be recorded in direct exchange with the population and included in the election program. The nomination of the local council team is planned for November 26, 2026.
In the 2023 local council elections, the FBP Schaan ran without its own candidate for mayor. That’s changing with Markus Beck: The party is sending its own candidacy for mayor again in 2027. The VU nominated its candidate Christoph Lingg in March. The competition to succeed the incumbent head, Daniel Hilti, is now taking shape.
