The family of Milagro Garel, World Pediatrics’ Country Director in Belize, is continuing its appeal for public support as she remains hospitalized following a massive brain aneurysm suffered earlier this week.
Garel was airlifted to Guatemala on Thursday night, where she is receiving intensive medical care. Her family says she continues to fight for her life as doctors work to stabilize her condition.
Messages of support have poured in from colleagues, friends, and relatives, many highlighting Garel’s more than 20 years of service with World Pediatrics. Throughout her career, she has helped countless Belizean children and families access life-saving medical care.
In a heartfelt social media post, family member Kristi Gonzalez described Garel as “the heart of our family” and said she has spent her life helping others through every challenge.
“She has spent her life moving mountains for others,” Gonzalez wrote. “Now it is our turn to move one for her.”
The family is asking the public to continue praying, sharing Garel’s story, and contributing financially to help cover the costs of her medical treatment. Donations can be made to Joseph Garel’s Atlantic Bank account #10010449.
